About feelsgood
New Zealand’s independent therapy matching directory.
Our mission
Finding the right therapist should feel less hard than it does.
feelsgood exists to make the first step toward support a little less overwhelming. We’re an independent New Zealand directory that helps people find therapists, counsellors, and psychologists who may be a genuine match — through a guided quiz, warm profiles, and plain-English information about different therapy approaches.
What we believe in
Transparency
We're independent. We don't rank therapists based on who pays more, and we don't hide our business model. Basic listings are free; enhanced tiers are clearly labelled. We never sell user data.
Warmth
Reaching out for help is brave. We work hard to make every part of the feelsgood experience feel kind, non-judgmental, and genuinely supportive — because that matters.
Accessibility
We believe quality information about therapy should be free and easy to understand. No jargon. No gatekeeping. No pressure.
Honesty
We are not a medical provider or a clinical service. We make this clear everywhere. Our quiz is a starting point, not a diagnosis. We always encourage users to consult qualified professionals.
How feelsgood works
For people seeking support: feelsgood is completely free. You can browse the directory, take the quiz, and read therapist profiles at no cost. Your quiz answers are private and are not stored or shared.
For practitioners: Therapists and counsellors can list their practice on feelsgood. Basic listings are free; Enhanced and Featured tiers are available for a monthly fee. All practitioners provide their qualifications and registration details — though we note that we do not independently verify these.
Quiz matching: Our quiz uses your answers to weight different therapy approaches and suggest practitioners whose profiles align with those approaches. Enhanced and Featured practitioners appear in quiz results; Basic listings appear in the directory only.
The team
feelsgood was created by a small team who believe finding the right support should feel less hard. We’re not clinicians — we’re people who have navigated the challenge of finding good therapy ourselves, and want to make it easier for others.
feelsgood is an independent directory and is not a medical provider, regulator, or crisis service. Information on this site is general only and is not clinical advice. We do not verify practitioner credentials independently. We always encourage users to confirm a therapist’s registration with the relevant professional body and to consult a qualified health professional about their specific situation.
